We are proud to announce the participation of our friend and contributor, Romanian artist Alina Mărgineanu, in the “Follow me, Follow Santa” event at the “Henri Coandă” Airport, a venue dedicated to the winter holidays.
The National Company Bucharest Airports (CNAB) is celebrating the arrival of Santa Claus on Monday 19 December at 12:00 in the new ”Departures” Terminal at the Henri Coandă International Airport in Bucharest, Romania.
Alina Mărgineanu will be contributing with her exhibition “Nonconformist Christmas Trees”, which she created from the most unexpected recycled materials. These design trees not only have individual names, but also their own stories (“Wish”, “Beauty”, “Home”, “Toy”, etc.), which convey not just an aesthetic and ecological message, but also one of human solidarity and generosity.
At least one of these trees will have a QR code that, once scanned, will take you to a charity where you can contribute by a donation, so the spirit of Christmas may not remain just a simple word, instead it can materialize into help for children and families in need.
The exhibition “Nonconformist Christmas Trees” is a Balkazaar project, conceived and created by Alina Mărgineanu and implemented in collaboration with the National Company Bucharest Airports (CNAB).
The “Follow me, Follow Santa” event will also include a visit on the platform in the “Follow me” car of the Ground Traffic Control Service and Santa Claus will be welcomed in the airport with a concert of carols from the Romanian and international repertoire, performed on piano and cello by students of the International Institute of Arts, as well as by pianist Mădălina Pașol.
So if you happen to travel through the Balkans and especially if passing through Bucharest, Romania, don’t miss this great event.
We’ll be back later this week with an article about this amazing action.
Thank you Alina for making the world a better place!
